Cleaning House

I’ve been organizing quite a bit lately. This is normal when preparing to move. I spent some time doing so on my PC today. I would have preferred to do something more productive, but after having a cold last month, I got to have the flu this weekend, which was terribly unfun. But, the fever has relented, and I’m at least partially functional.

I like collecting, especially information. For instance, I have bookmarks/favorites in my browser that I’ve been collecting since 2000. I’ve done a lot of exporting and importing during that time. It just ocurred to me that a) some of them are probably dead links and b) I can find these websites with Google. I just deleted about 50% of them. Then I deleted music that I simply don’t listen to. It funny, in a disturbing way, how we may hold onto things that we would never miss if they were gone. My year in New Zealand was good in that respect. I had a backpack, and a few items acquired so I had a place to sleep and put my clothes. There’s more to be thrown out, and I look forward to it.
