Remember, Remember, the 5th of November
I finally saw V for Vendetta this week. It’s been on my watch list for away, and Netflix sent it to me as soon as it was released. Wow, great movie with many layers and top-notch acting. After seeing Natalie Portman’s performance in this movie, it becomes even more obvious that George Lucas can’t direct people. This is now one of my favorite movies, and a must-own (if there is such as thing as a must-own movie…). I need to buy one more movie from Columbia House anyway.
So, to recap, I don’t like most family friendly movies (but do like Anne of Green Gables, Little Women), and am not a big fan of modern comedies (really don’t like anything with Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Rob Schneider, etc). Most of the movies I own are science fiction, fantasy or rather dark. Of course, the Old Testament is rather dark, often imaginative, and includes many uncomfortable themes. That’s probably why the Old Testament is so often ignored…it’s not family-friendly enough.
