Oh Heck

Played cards this weekend in Denver. A popular game with the crew down there is “Oh Heck!” You may not be familiar with the game partially because of the name. The more familiar names are not very polite, and forget what they are, so we’ll leave it at that. The important thing is that I won the first of three games, barely holding on to the lead.

The day before that, I watched one of the worst movies ever, but it was the Mystery Science Theater version, so it was tolerable. Also got to blade about 6 miles the day before, which was good exercise. I need to work on my cornering though, so I can refrain from falling flat in the mud when wearing white clothes.

Bought a LED headlamp at EMS, and a mini-Maglite for a second source of light. You see, they recommend bringing 3 sources of light when descending into the depths, and I want to be prepared. After visiting Calsbad Caverns and Mammoth Caves, I’m looking forward to exploring caving as a hobby. Hopefully I’ll be able to visit Jewel Cave and Wind Cave in South Dakota this June. You haven’t seen dark until you’ve been 700 feet below ground with all lights turned off.
