Two paths diverged…
So goes the poem of Robert Frost. The “I” takes the path less traveled by, and that made all the difference. Ah, if it were only that simple. Following the path everyone else takes certainly has its advantages. This is the one that will get you approval, and it certainly makes more sense. To follow an alternate path may make the difference, but could also lead to being a lonely outcast, plus, it’s just plain scary. And like it or not, it’s possible to take either path for the wrong reason. Do I take the well-trodden path because it’s safe and people will like me? Do I take the less-traveled path to avoid people or because of pride?
More problematic is the fact that given the choice between path A and path B, is that there may be a path C that I don’t notice. It’s all very daunting. Before stepping foot on a path, I may need to wrestle a few bears and other furry animals, to be sure of my decision. One thing is sure. At the crossroads I cannot stay. Commit to a path, and follow it till the end.
